Winter in Annaberg 60 km ski slope on the doorstep

And good food at authentic huts

Ski in - ski out!

Slip out of our holiday home to the ski slope and in 2 minutes you can ski down to the Donnerkogelbahn valley station. In just 8 minutes, this gondola lift takes you to the Dachstein-West skiing area with roughly 60 kilometers of blue, red and black pistes and many comfortable huts. The family-friendly ski area abounds with opportunities for short or long skiing trips at all levels. You never have to wait long for the ski-lifts, making the area ideally suitable for families.

Your ski-pass is valid not only in the Dachstein-West area (Annaberg, Gosau, and Russbach), but also in a number of the smaller ski resorts: Karkogel Abtenau, St. Martin, Dachstein Krippenstein Obertraun, Zinkenlifte Bad Dürnberg, Feuerkogel Ebensee, Skilift Lammertal Lungötz, and Werfenweng. A total of 160 km of piste!

Skiing school

The Annaberg skiing school Freeride-Alpin is located in the Donnerkogelbahn valley station. Annaberg is the village where Marcel Hirscher grew up, multiple world champion slalom and giant slalom; and his parents have long been associated with the skiing school where they still give skiing lessons.

Cross-country skiing

Cross-country skiing is possible in Abtenau and Lungötz (a 15- and 20-minute drive), and on the Postalm (a 30-minute drive from our holiday home).

Winter hiking

In the area surrounding our holiday home, you have a huge range of hiking options. You can also go on an accompanied winter hike with a guide from the Freeride-Alpin skiing school (optionally with snowshoes).

Salzburgersportwelt

If you fancy doing something different one day, then a 30-minute drive gets you to Flachau for skiing in Salzburger Sportwelt (Ski Amadé), one of the largest ski resorts in the Alps with 760 kilometers of piste, 270 modern lifts and 200 huts.
